Colorado Springs Police Department officials have confirmed that Kevin Michael Marinec, 25, died in a motorcycle accident in mid-September.
The accident occurred at the intersection of Lake Avenue and Cheyenne Road. Marinec was heading west on Lake Avenue when a white Chevrolet making a left turn crossed his path. The driver had a green light but not a green arrow, so she did not have the right of way. The driver’s name has not been released, and she is expected to face charges of careless driving resulting in death.
Marinec’s obituary says that he “lived fast but truly lived his life. He touched so many in the short time he was here. No one can deny that he had lived.”
The same could be said of many bikers who lost their lives too soon in tragic motorcycle accidents. They chose to embrace life, risks and all, in order to get the most out of it.
