Colorado Springs Motorcycle Community Mourns Two Of Its Own

In a heartfelt expression of love and support, the local motorcycle community of Colorado Springs gathered Sunday to mourn the loss of two of their own through a candlelight vigil.

Mark and Cyndi Igou were out riding Thursday evening when something caused them to veer off the road and hit a curb. This caused the motorcycle to bound through the intersection of East Fountain Blvd. and Fountain Street, hitting a second curb.

According to police, 48-year old Mark died at the scene. Authorities took 46-year old Cyndi to the hospital, where she later died.

There were no other vehicles involved in the crash, and police do not believe that alcohol or excessive speed was involved. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash.

A sense of community is important during difficult times. It remains to be seen where the fault will be found in this accident. Was it faulty equipment, or just a small mistake by the driver?
