Diana Ewert, 60, of Aurora was the only victim of a fatal motorcycle accident on June 22 in Park County, according to KRDO-TV in Colorado. The motorcycle accident is being investigated by the Colorado State Patrol.

State Troopers reported that Ewert was riding on Highway 9, about 30 miles northwest of Cañon City, when she was thrown from her motorcycle while trying to negotiate a curve. She succumbed to her injuries and died at the scene. Troopers have all but ruled out alcohol, drugs or speed being factors in the crash. In addition, Ewert was wearing a helmet and eye protection at the time of the accident.

The circumstances surrounding motorcycle crashes such as this are often unclear. What truly caused the accident?
