A GoFundMe page has been set up for a Denver sound engineer injured in a motorcycle accident who was left with $50,000 in medical bills. Denver residents have already contributed a total of $16,383, and more donations are expected after a concert was hosted to raise more money.
The sound engineer’s girlfriend told Denver press outlet Westword that he had been riding in the mountains to “get away for a bit”. After hitting a deep patch of sand, he was dragged underneath his motorcycle and slammed into a guardrail. He survived the motorcycle accident with serious wounds, but discovered upon reaching a hospital that his insurance policy had been cancelled. A notice had been sent to a former business manager, who allegedly did not inform the sound engineer of the change.
With a “tennis ball sized” wound in his foot, he will need to continue receiving medical care until doctors can surgically repair the damage. It is not surprising that his treatments would come with a $50,000 price tag and it is extremely unfortunate this young man has been affected by circumstances beyond his control.
