Home Destroyed In Colorado Drunk Driving Accident

According to the Denver Channel, a 37-year-old man drove into a home in Greeley, Colorado around 5 p.m. on Saturday, January 18. The perpetrator was driving a GMC pickup truck around the 1100 block of 25th Avenue when the driver veered from the road, according to the Greeley Police Department. The 37-year-old motorist then collided with a fence, two parked cars and a second fence before crashing through the wall of a home.

Thankfully, no one within the home was injured. A fireman on the scene said that the residents had left the area of the collision moments before the truck broke through the wall. Despite the $50,000 in damages incurred by the accident, the home is still structurally sound. Police arrived and arrested the driver on charges of reckless driving, driving without a license, suspicion of driving under the influence and individual counts of hit-and-run for each object he struck. Emergency crews escorted the driver to North Colorado Medical Center for treatment before taking him to the Weld County Jail.
