On Thursday April 21st, the riders stationed at Fort Carson officially kicked off their riding season to the tune of over 200 bikes roaring through the base at their annual Iron Horse Kickstart Event along with a few hundred additional attendees. Law Tigers was proud to be involved with the soldiers on base to help promote motorcycle safety and to educate the soldiers on ways they can protect themselves on the road.
The annual event featured live music, food, several area vendors from the motorcycle community, free motorcycle safety inspections, maintenance training, and a mentorship ride up to The Garden of the Gods and back. There was also a riding skills demonstration put on by the local Colorado Springs Police Department, along with a safety course where riders could test their basic riding skills. Fort Carson has over 4,000 registered riders on base and each is required by the US Army to take a motorcycle safety foundations course in order to have riding privileges on the base.
Law Tigers was also proud to partner up with the military charity The Home Front Cares for this event, doing a dollar for dollar match for any monies donated the day of the Iron Horse Kickoff Rally. In total, over $500 is going to The Home Front Cares, a non-profit charity that provides emergency and responsive support and grants for Colorado’s military members, veterans and their families who have been impacted by service to our Nation. The Home Front Cares in 2015 was able to provide grants to assist 375 Colorado veterans, service members and their families and provided referrals to over 1,000 clients for needed financial, emotional counseling and other services.
