Man Killed In San Antonio Motorcycle Accident

According to My San Antonio local news, a 57-year-old motorcyclist died on December 2 after colliding with an automobile. The motorcyclist was heading south on Perrin Beitel Road near the intersection of Wye Street at 9 a.m. in a motor-scooter when a northbound van turned left in front of him.

The two vehicles collided and the motorcyclist was pulled under the van. According to police reports, the van continued in motion for a brief stretch with the motorcyclist trapped underneath. Emergency crews arrived on the scene and determined that the motorcyclist died at 9:18 a.m. of blunt force injuries, according to a report from the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s office.

The van belonged to Global Restoration Services, a home restoration company. Interestingly, police stated that charges of vehicular manslaughter against Global Restoration Services and/or the driver of the van are unlikely. This statement has left some members of the San Antonio motorcycling community outraged. One resident commented that “to turn in front of an oncoming motorcyclist…kill someone and suffer no ill effects” is a part of “San Antonio’s war on motorcyclists.”
