Metier Law Firm and Law Tigers recently sponsored two charity events, one in Colorado and the other in Wyoming. Several weeks ago, we wrote a blog about the Realities Ride in Colorado, an event that helped fundraise for abused and neglected children. The event was a spectacular success, and 2,800 kind-hearted riders raised more than $100,000. Law Tigers donated $10,000 to help sponsor the event. All donations raised during this event went to Realities For Children Charities.
Realities Ride is the largest poker run in the world, an event that involves riding while collecting poker cards. At the end of a poker run, whoever has the best hand wins the best prize.
Earlier this year, Metier Law Firm donated $5,000 to the Bart Rea Learning Circle, located in Platte River Trails, Wyoming. The Bart Rae Learning Circle is a multipurpose outdoor gathering space and amphitheater that will allow visitors to enjoy concerts, classes and other recreational activities. Additional projects for the Bart Rae Learning Circle will begin construction in fall of 2015.
Why Are Charity Events Important?
Donations are an important part of public service, especially for attorneys. Our duties as citizens and defenders of rights and justice obligate us to take part in and to help our communities. Being given the chance to improve our communities and to help better the lives of others is not only a tremendous responsibility, but also a great honor.
