Metier Law Firm attended the Chanda Plan Foundation’s Big Event Fundraiser this year to help provide a better way of life for people with disabilities. The event was held on April 16th, and proceeds went towards individuals with disabilities such as cerebral palsy.
This is the 10th year the Chanda Plan Foundation has hosted the Big Event Fundraiser. The Chanda Plan Foundation exists to educate the disabled community on integrative and adaptive treatments, advocate for changes in health policies and healthcare options and to improve access to healthcare options for individuals with disabilities.
Contributions for the event went towards activities for individuals with disabilities, such as adaptive exercise and adaptive yoga. We have written about adaptive sports and activities before, and the benefits for accident survivors and individuals with disabilities can be substantial.
Famous Comedian with Cerebral Palsy Inspires Fundraising Event
Attending the event was inspiring and fun, thanks to the presence of Last Comic Standing winner Josh Blue. Born with cerebral palsy, Josh Blue has become a successful comedian, appearing on Comedy Central and Showtime.
According to the Centers for Disease Control, cerebral palsy occurs in more than 4 in 1,000 births, and about 764,000 children and adults in the United States have the condition. Cerebral palsy can result from a brain injury or abnormal brain development. Every case of cerebral palsy is different, but many individuals with the condition will have movement dysfunction.
Inclusiveness is the foundation of a good community, and Metier Law Firm is proud to stand up for and serve others.
