Realities for Children has presented Metier Law Firm with the Guardian Angel Award for its continued work helping defend abused and neglected children. Created in 1996, Realities for Children provides services for abused, neglected and at-risk children in Larimer Country. These services include providing children with school supplies, bikes and Christmas presents.
Colorado injury attorney Tom Metier and his staff were presented with the award by Craig Secher, the president and founder of Realities for Children.
Over the last several years, Metier Law Firm has sponsored Realities for Children events, such as Bikes for Tykes and the Realities Ride & Rally. Bikes for Tykes allows the community to give abused and neglected children refurbished or new bicycles and helmets. The Realities Ride & Rally is a motorcycle rally and poker run that fundraises for abused and neglected children.
Why Metier Law Firm Supports Abused and Neglected Children
We participate in and sponsor these events because we believe in helping provide resources that can change the lives of abused and neglected children. Child abuse and neglect is a problem the Larimer County community must resolve. In 2012, the Larimer County Department of Human Services Children, Youth and Family Division received 428 legitimate claims of abuse and neglect.
Childhood is supposed to be the best and most carefree time of our lives. When children are neglected and abused by the very people they depend on, we must come together as a community to offer assistance. Improving the lives of abused and neglected children is a cause worth fighting for.
