C-470 near Lucent Boulevard was the site of a serious motorcycle crash on June 8, according to CBS 4 in Denver. The eastbound lanes of C-470 were closed for several hours after the crash, which involved two motorcycles. The two motorcycles ran into each other and crashed, leaving one of the riders seriously injured, according to authorities. There may have been an SUV involved as well, but that has not been confirmed.
The cause of this accident is yet unknown. Riding a motorcycle is a very enjoyable activity, but it comes with its risks. Motorcyclists are much more exposed than other motorists are, and so when they are involved in accidents, serious injuries, such as a spinal cord injury or traumatic brain injury, are more of a likelihood. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, between 2001 and 2008, more than 34,000 motorcyclists were killed and an estimated 1,222,000 persons were treated in a U.S. emergency department for a non-fatal motorcycle-related injury.
A motorcycle accident can happen for any number of reasons, whether because of adverse weather or road conditions or another driver’s negligence. If you or a loved one has been involved in a motorcycle accident and are suffering because of someone else’s negligence, you may be entitled to compensation.
