A motorcyclist was killed in Colorado Springs after he collided with a van at an intersection.
On October 13, the van was traveling eastbound on Colorado Avenue around 7:30 p.m. The motorcyclist was traveling westbound when both parties arrived at the intersection.
The driver tried to turn left onto northbound Tejon Street, but he failed to notice the motorcyclist approaching. The rider had no time to avoid the collision and slammed into the van’s passenger side.
The rider was rushed to the hospital, but he soon died from his injuries. The driver and the passenger in the minivan were uninjured.
Can I Sue a Distracted Driver?
Distracted drivers put everyone at risk by failing to look properly before they merge or turn. Their negligence may cause collisions with other cars, but the consequences can be especially devastating for motorcyclists.
Motorcycles can travel as fast as cars, but riders are extremely exposed. Without safety features like airbags, seatbelts and doors, collisions often seriously injure or kill a motorcyclist.
