Police Officer Killed In Motorcycle Accident By Possible Drunk Driver

A Littleton off duty police officer was involved in a fatal motorcycle accident on May 6. Kevin Denner was riding his motorcycle around 11 a.m., when he ran into the passenger side of a Toyota car. According to police, Denner was traveling westbound on Belleview Ave when the car headed eastbound made a left hand turn directly into Denner’s path. Authorities said Denner, who was traveling the speed limit, did not even have enough time to slow down before running into the side of the car.

Jeff Turner of the Aurora Police Department said that there are no stop signs or traffic signals on Belleview Avenue, however, it appears the driver of the Toyota failed to yield the right of way to Denner, which caused him to crash. Authorities suspect that alcohol may be a factor in the crash and are awaiting toxicology results. Denner is survived by his wife and two children.
