Rider Killed in Fatal Phoenix Motorcycle Accident

A motorcyclist was killed after crashing into a pickup truck in Phoenix on September 3, according to ABC 15.

“Authorities responded to the crash near 40th Avenue and Thunderbird after receiving reports of an accident involving a motorcycle,” said Sgt. Trent Crump of the Phoenix Police Department.

According to the police, prior to the accident, the 23-year-old motorcyclist was heading west on Thunderbird Road when he encountered a pickup truck turning left onto 41st Avenue. The motorcyclist was unable to avoid crashing into the pickup truck after it pulled into his path. The motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries in the wreck. It was not reported whether he died on the scene or was transported to the hospital.

It was also not reported whether the pickup truck driver was injured, but police did say that the driver was cooperating with authorities and that impairment does not appear to be a factor in the crash. Police also reported that the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet during the wreck. The investigation was still ongoing at the time of this report.
