Safety Ratings for Colorado Roads Released to Avoid Motorcycle Accidents

With the approaching spring and sunny weather, Colorado is soon to become an ideal place for those scenic motorcycle cruises bikers live to ride. It is because of this season that motorcyclists should take every care and precaution when going out for a ride. To help riders prepare for a safe and enjoyable trip the Colorado department of transportation, or CDOT, had released the “Live to Ride” campaign in 2008 to “help motorcyclists of all skill levels ride safely, have fun, and most importantly, stay alive.”

One way CDOT is helping riders plan for a safe outing is supplying a color-coded map to indicate the difficulty of routes throughout Colorado, with easy roads marked in green and difficult roads marked in red. While also supplying twenty-four hour updates on road conditions and traffic warnings. Another helpful bit of information supplied by CDOT is a listing of training courses riders can take to improve and/or hone their riding skills and prepares them for riding in all Colorado weather conditions.

Even though taking the necessary precautions does minimize your risk of serious or fatal motorcycle accidents, unfortunately there is still the possibility for personal injuries. So if you or a loved one have fallen victim to a negligent or distracted driver please contact one of our Colorado accident attorneys at (866) 377-3800 today.
