Teenager Fighting for Life in Kansas City Hospital

Jackson J. Hill, 17, of Lee’s Summit is fighting for his life at Research Hospital after a motorcycle accident on Missouri Route 13 at Highway E.

The collision occurred around 4.20 p.m. on Monday, June 13, 2011 when Hill’s 2002 Honda motorcycle collided with the front end of a 1997 Honda Civic coupe driven by John M. Gallagher, 42, of Independence.

Witness Angela Hardy, 30, of Warrensburg said that traffic slowed to turn onto 750th Road. Hill was approaching quickly from behind and he swerved to avoid hitting Fisher’s car. He clipped the left, rear quarter panel before continuing into the oncoming lane where he collided with the Gallagher’s Civic.

Marjorie Marsh, 67, of Higginsville was driving behind Gallagher and said that it appeared that he was unable to avoid the collision.

Hill struck Gallagher’s front, right quarter panel then veered down a six-foot ditch on the east side of M-13. Gallagher’s Civic spun and went into a ditch on the west side about 30 yards from the motorcycle.

Tammy S. Mahan, 38, of Bridgeport, Ohio, was a passenger in the Civic and sustained minor injuries
