Topeka Man Killed in Motorcycle Accident

Chester Fisher, 61, is dead and his wife Viola, 61, is in critical condition after a motorcycle accident in Chase County, at 8:42 a.m. on the morning of Sunday, June 5, 2011.

The Fishers were on their way to Cassoday for the Cassoday Bike Run when the accident occurred. They were travelling south on K-177 on a 2005 Harley-Davidson motorcycle when they entered a ditch, rolled and were ejected from their bike.

The accident occurred 10.8 miles south of Strong City and the junction of K-177 and US-50.

Chester Fisher was driving and was not wearing a helmet. He was taken to the Newman Regional Hospital in Emporia, where he died shortly after.

Viola was the passenger and was wearing a helmet. She suffered a broken back and multiple fractures and was taken to the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

As of Monday, June 6, 2011, Viola was listed in critical condition.

Viola was still listed in critical condition late Monday evening, according to Wesley Medical Center.
