Two Injured in Denver Two-Car Accident

A two-car accident in Denver on October 8 left two people injured. According to ABC 7 in Denver, the accident happened in the afternoon at around 1 p.m. at the intersection of Lincoln Street and Fourth Avenue.

At that time, a woman was traveling westbound on Fourth Avenue in a Nissan Juke. The police reported that the woman told them that she stopped at the stop sign at the Lincoln Street intersection before continuing westbound on Fourth across Lincoln.

As the Nissan Juke crossed Lincoln, a Honda Civic being driven by another woman northbound on Lincoln T-boned the Nissan on the driver’s side. The impact of the collision sent the Juke spinning around until it stopped facing southbound on Lincoln. After the crash, the Honda stopped facing westbound on Fourth.

“Both the female driver in the Honda and a female passenger in the Nissan were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries,” Denver Traffic Investigations Sgt. Mike Farr told ABC 7. “The Honda driver had at least one broken arm.”

The Lincoln Street and Fourth Avenue intersection was closed for more than an hour while police conducted an investigation and cleaned up the accident scene. As a result of the investigation, the driver of the Nissan was ticketed for careless driving causing injury and failure to yield the right-of-way.

“Even though [the Nissan driver] was struck by the other vehicle, she was in the wrong for failing to make sure it was safe before she entered the intersection,” said Farr.
