On the night of November 11, two separate motorcycle fatalities transpired in Las Vegas. The pair of accidents marks the Las Vegas Police Department’s 90th traffic induced death of the year.
The first occurred around 10:30 p.m., as a westbound 2004 Honda CBR approached Linn Lane on Charleston Boulevard. At the same moment, a 2006 Dodge Caravan traveling the opposite direction on Charleston started to turn north on Linn. Then, a 1996 Ford explorer reached the same intersection going south on Linn. The cyclist collided with the left turning Dodge, flew from his motorcycle and landed on the concrete to his death. The Dodge, still in motion, then collided with the Ford.
Almost 5 hours later, a 2009 Honda CBR driven by a 22-year-old male was rounding a curve of Dean Martin Drive near Tropicana. The rider was traveling too fast to stay in his lane for the duration of the curve and collided with a chain link fence atop a concrete base. He fell from his motorcycle and died.
