The death of 27-year-old Nicholas Schmit of Grantsville, Utah has been reported by KNEB Radio as the result of an apparent motorcycle accident. His body was found on June 5, about 18 miles east of Sidney, Nebraska, along U.S. Highway 30. Schmit was discovered by residents passing by just after 5 a.m. However, according to estimates by authorities, Schmit died at 1:30 a.m.
“It appears Schmit died when the motorcycle he was riding hit a sign,” said Cheyenne County Attorney Paul Schaub.
Unfortunately, fatal motorcycle accidents such as this can occur at any time. Whether it was through the fault of Mr. Schmit or another driver, we may never know. However, the fact is motorcycle accidents often leave loved ones behind to try to pick up the pieces. Figuring out who is at fault, especially if a crash involves a drunk or distracted driver, is an important part of helping the families of fatal accident victims move on and recover the compensation they deserve.
There is always someone at fault for an accident. If you lost a loved one in a fatal motorcycle accident caused by another driver, you may be entitled to compensation. Please call our national injury attorney at (866) 377-3800 for a free consultation.
