One Colorado teen was killed and another was seriously injured in a head-on auto collision on Friday, September 26.
The tragic crash happened early that evening in the 7500 block of Wadsworth Boulevard. Witnesses reported a truck traveling southbound at a high rate of speed before it crossed into the northbound lane and collided head-on with a small coupe.
A 54-year-old man was driving the truck that caused the crash. A 16-year-old girl in the smaller car died at the scene, and the 18-year-old driver was hospitalized with severe injuries to her legs and pelvis.
Police suspect the man driving the truck was under the influence at the time of the accident. Charges are currently pending.
Drunk drivers are some of the most dangerous and reckless people on the road. They know their actions could cause great harm, but they are still willing to put their own personal convenience and poor judgment above the lives of others.
This driver killed a child and shattered a family by choosing to drive drunk. He may be facing criminal charges, but there is a way for the victim’s family to hold him accountable as well.
How Could a Personal Injury Lawsuit Help Me?
In a personal injury lawsuit, victims can substantiate their claims of negligence by proving that a driver’s reckless behavior caused injury or wrongful death. A civil settlement can help manage unforeseen expenses and cover costly medical bills.
