Woman Killed in Wyoming Motorcycle Accident

According to the Salt Lake Tribune, a 47 and 38-year-old couple from Vernal, Utah were riding north on U.S. Route 191 in Wyoming behind two pick-up trucks. As the first pick-up truck pulled onto the right-hand shoulder, the motorcyclists decided to pass them. However, the second pick-up truck did not see the couple moving down the left lane to pass. The couple was almost clear of the second pick-up truck when the motorist, unaware of their presence, made a quick left turn.

The motorcycle collided with the front quarter panel of the second pick-up truck. The impact carried sufficient force to eject the female rider from the motorcycle. Emergency crews arrived and shuttled the injured woman off to the Eastern Idaho Medical Center in Idaho Falls via helicopter. The man was taken by ambulance to the St. John’s Hospital in Jackson, Wyoming. Sadly, the woman died of her injuries at the hospital.
