According to CBS 8 Local San Diego, a motorcyclist crashed and died on Christmas Day. The 20-year-old motorcyclist from Coronado was riding westbound on Route 94 around 1:45 p.m. near the neighborhood of Stockton, according to the California Highway Patrol. The 20-year-old motorcyclist turned onto the Route 15 entrance ramp, which has an abrupt curve.
As the 20-year-old motorcyclist attempted to negotiate the curve of the entrance ramp, his 2013 Ducati Monster began to skid perpendicular to the curve such that he collided with the concrete barrier. The impact of the collision was sufficient to launch the 20-year-old motorcyclist over the edge of the raised entrance ramp. Then, the 20-year-old motorcyclist fell onto the pavement of Route 94. Unfortunately, at that same moment, an eastbound Nissan Titan was driving through the lane containing the fallen motorcyclist. The truck struck the motorcyclist and the 20-year-old rider died.
My Son Was Killed In A Motorcycle Accident And I Need An Attorney
It is terribly unnerving that a simple maneuver, negotiating a curved entrance ramp, can bring such tragic consequences. Forces outside of the motorcyclist’s control, such as negligent motorists, bad weather, adverse road conditions and defective parts cause most motorcycle accidents. Given that motorcycles lack the protection of the car or truck, even minor accidents can result in back and neck injuries, severe cuts and lacerations, road rash, loss of limbs and traumatic brain injuries.
